We are launching our 2012 fighting fund appeal with this issue of FRFI.

We face difficult times. The ruling class is not yet facing serious opposition to its assault on the working class. Hundreds of thousands are being forced into poverty as a consequence of the latest round of austerity measures. The benefits system is being dismantled, the NHS is going to be privatised. Yet as we say in this issue, 80% of the planned cuts have yet to happen. In the meantime, the war drums beat, and intervention is called for in Somalia, Syria and Iran. The need for a real anti-imperialist movement grows ever more urgent, the argument for the superiority of socialism more and more compelling. We are asking you to help us meet these needs so that we are able to sustain and develop our political contribution towards a new movement which will provide a genuine challenge to the ruling class.
