Book Discussion: "The End of Tolerance - Racism in 21st Century Britain"
Saturday 28th August, 3pm
@ Made in Newcastle, Nun Street (between Wilkinsons and McDonalds, 2 minutes from Monument)
This book is an in-depth study into recent attacks on migrants, Muslims and other black communities by the state and the media. It explains the links between British imperialism, globalisation, the "war on terror" and racism in 21st century Britain; helping us understand where racism comes form and how we can fight against it. It also gives an inspiring history of people fighting back against racism in Britain and discusses the lessons we can learn from their struggles.
We will be meeting once a month to discuss a chapter each time. You do not need to have read the book to attend as there will be a summary of the chapter at each meeting.
